Trust runner-up in new national award

Improvement and excellence in mental health service delivery through innovative and creative solutions provided by Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have been recognised at a glittering awards ceremony in London held last week.

The Trust has come runner-up in the fiercely fought Mental Health Service Provider of the Year 2009 category at the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ first ever national awards ceremony.

The Trust’s medical director, Dr Mohanna said: “We were absolutely delighted that the high quality of our clinical teams and all our staff involved in providing services has been recognised by such a prestigious national body.”

“This reflects great credit on not only the psychiatrists, but also the nursing, therapeutic, social care and support staff, together with everyone else in the Trust who work very hard to ensure those in the front line can deliver the highest quality services possible our patients”

The Mental Health Service Provider of the Year award recognises the excellence in service delivery across a wide range of services provided to the community; in particular focussing on how service improvements have been made and how.

The Trust already has a strong reputation nationally, which is acknowledged by the independent Care Quality Commission – formerly the Healthcare Commission – who awarded the Trust the highest possible ratings for quality of services and use of resources.

Trust chief executive Chris Slavin, who attended the awards ceremony in London on 6 October, said: “It is great news both for the Trust and the communities we serve.  This award recognises the quality of our service and the improvements we’ve made to improve service user satisfaction and we intend to carry on doing so”
