Lincolnshire’s NHS mental health services provider and charity Lincoln Mind are joining together to promote mental health issues at a free awareness day to be held on World Mental Health Day on Wednesday 10 October.
Representatives from Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust, Lincoln Mind and other local organisations and change will be on hand to provide information and chat about mental health issues and what kind of support is available.
The free Community Marketplace event takes place between 11am and 2pm in St Mary Le Wigford Church Hall, Lincoln.
The Trust will be represented by people from the Foundation Trust office, Psychological Therapies, Child and Family Services, the Francis Willis Unit and the Peter Hodgkinson Centre.
Also in attendance will be Lincoln Mind, Rethink, The Alzheimer’s Society and Addaction. Deputy Mayor Cllr Ron Hills will be attending to chat to stand holders and visitors, and the Red Cross will be providing soothing hand and neck massage.
Lincoln Mind Chief Executive Cheryl Hall said: “Mental ill health comes in different forms and impacts on many lives so it is something that needs to be debated and discussed. World Mental Health Day gives us the perfect opportunity to help people in Lincoln to do just this.
“The day set to be really informative and we are sure people will be able to use this event to find out more about mental health and what services and support is available in the city.”
World Mental Health Day has been observed every year on 10 October since 1992. This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health in a Changing World: The Impact of Culture and Diversity’. Increasingly, mental health professionals work with more and more people who speak languages other than the main language of the country in which they reside.
