What do we stand for?
The Trust is proud of its staff, and as a Foundation Trust, has the aim of enabling all of our staff to perform to the maximum of their abilities ensuring high quality service for our patients and service users and that staff feel valued. The Trust is also committed to valuing the contribution of its staff and provides a supportive and flexible working environment.
The Human Resources (HR) Department ensures we support our managers and staff in implementing good employment practices so that staff feel valued. The cornerstone of our workforce strategy is about improving Recruitment and Retention and becoming a Mental Health Employer of Choice. We therefore feel that by continuing to focus on greater staff recognition, engagement, diversity and flexible working, and by creating a healthy workplace, staff will be happy, healthy and here.
Our commitment to staff and the service they provide is recognised locally and nationally. We were rated as excellent for the quality of patient care we provide and excellent for how we manage our finances by the Healthcare Commission, in their 2008 review of our services. In 2008 we were also rated as being one of the ‘Top Five’ Mental Health Trusts in the UK through the results of its staff and patient surveys. We are also recognised as being one of the national Health Care 100 organisations in 2009.
