Eating Disorders

The Lincolnshire Anorexia Nervosa service

We offer assessment and treatment for those aged 16 and over, resident in Lincolnshire who may be experiencing moderate to severe Anorexia and are brave enough to ask for help for what can be a confusing and frightening experience.

We accept GP referrals directly but we are happy to discuss any eating-related issues.

We try to offer appointments close to the person’s home, often in their own GPs surgery. We offer treatment which is tailor-made to suit each individual.

The Team consists of two female Nurse Specialists, one male nurse therapist who is also the Team Coordinator, a Consultant Psychiatrist and two administrative support staff.

We do not enforce treatment in anyway and we rely on co-operation and discussion, as we understand that there are no quick fixes but many opportunities.

Our aim is to enable a gradual exploration of the food and feelings entanglement so that the function of an eating disorder maybe understood and a survival plan established.

We have a support group, based in Lincoln for those living with an eating disorder and for their families and friends. For details please contact Heather Killick on 01476 584005 or by email heather.killick@LPT.nhs.uk

We have access to In-Patient treatment at the Beaumanor unit in Leicester but this is voluntary and if the individual wishes to consider this option details may be discussed with the Therapist.

We can also provide education and training regarding the management of Anorexia Nervosa.

We welcome enquiries either by phone on 01476 584005 or by email Philip.rice@lpt.nhs.uk
